Toshiba Recovery Emulation?

Hi Folks,
Long time no see.

I've been meaning to research this for a while now, but when I got around to it I couldn't form my Quoogle (google search query) well enough to get any decent hits.

Basically, I have an older toshiba satellite (a100 or 200 or something) laptop whose video adapter on the board has carked it. I had made a recovery disk prior to the decease and was wondering if anyone has come across an emulator of sorts, or an explorer that I could use to access files from the recovery disks?

ANy ideas would be appreciated.

Go Team!! mug

why not just remove the
hard drive and connect it to another computer to get the files you want?

I can't do that because the files aren't currently on the hard drive. and I need to restore from the recovery dvds to get the files I want.
I guess i forgot to mention that the drive was formatted for performance before it died.

Kind of ironic now that I think about it!

So, why can't you just read off the DVDs?
Is everything dumped into one large file? If so, what type? (wim?)

I guess the question is "What sort of recovery disks are these? What application made them?"

They're the Toshiba recovery wizard disks. The laptop has a recovery partition that's used for creating and restoring from these recovery disks.

But that's a very good point - I haven't actually plugged the disks in to see if i can read them. I'll give that a go when I get home from work.

Thanks Sean!
