Why do typed characters display in right-to-left sequence in Outlook?

If I type "hi sue" then "eus hi" is displayed in Outlook / compose new/ message body. It does not happen if I reply to an existing message. Is this a virus? If so, is it on my local machine or the Outlook server?

What version?

What version of outlook are you running? I would say though that your language settings are messed up. Look in the options for Outlook. Look at the languages tab, and confirm that the language setting there is English US, or your correct location. It could currently be set for Farsi or Hebrew.
