Can I configure 2WIRE 3800HGV_B modem with a Linksys wrt54gs router?

I would like to add a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router to my network to expand the wireless coverage of the 2Wire 3800HGV_B modem. If I disable the wireless brodcast of the 2Wire modem can i use the wireless signal from the Linksys modem, or can they both work at the same time.?

Whatever you want here
If you use both the Linksys will be on a subbranch of the LAN to the rest of the WiFi Connected systems.

Or you could run a CAT Cable to the Uplink Port of the Linksys and locate it in a more central position and turn off the WiFi on your Router.
