active directory

i just started to learn about active directory, but it seems like there is too much info and i am being overwhelmed. what should i concentrate on if i want to learn the basics of AD?

AD is enormous
You're right, AD can be quite intimidating at first. It's unimaginable how complex AD is at it's finest level of granularity. However, like with most complicated things, just use it and you'll pick up the basics fast, the longer you use it, the more complex features you'll learn and pick up on.
If you'd like to do some research or reading, I'd suggest looking into the study guides for the MCTS: Active Directory Configuration exam. Good mix of basic and advanced concepts in there.
