Hi all,
recently i have trouble in my windows 7 pc. my files in my personal folders has been duplicated. I searched online and could arrive myself with the symptoms that my pc might have a root kit. Any suggestions on how to remove it? Your suggestions would be really helpful..

Just remember to remove the space from between techrepublic and the .com to get a working link.

I would start with several approaches:
One is to determine if system restore is enabled, and if so, restore to a point in time prior to when you suspect the infection occurred.
I would attempt a scan with the Kaspersky rootkit hunter:

I would look at the possibility that another user of the PC accidentally dragged-and-dropped the my documents folder onto itself.

If it's truly a rootkit
Wipe the disk and reinstall the OS. However robo_dev's point about an honest mistake sounds closer to your situation.
