I have a Dell M1530 and my battery is not charging. At first i thought it was the battery and I bought one and found myself with the same result. I'm thinking that the AC plug on the laptop may be the problem, anyone know where to order the AC plug and how involved that would be?

First, test the AC adaptor
To test the AC adaptor, use a multimeter or improvise one. The objective is to verify whether the AC adaptor has an output.
The problem can also be internal to the laptop. The power supply may be busted.

After you've tested the AC adapter,
if it is still functioning, then it could be a loose connection on the plug to the
motherboard. If the adapter is not functioning, I've had pretty good results
from batteryedge.com. They sell a wide variety of OEM and replacement
parts, including adapters and batteries.

Thanks, it was the ac adapter on the mother board, it was not properly charging the battery. I was able to find a replacement on Amazon.com for under $20 and install it. Installation was kind of a pain because I had to take the laptop completely apart but it was worth it.

You should check the power supplys ac adapter, or there could be a malfunction in the port where you plug the charger in. You said you have bought a new battery and that was not the problem be sure it is not an internal issue.
