Net Monitor
I am distributing internet in my office via BSNL broadband through their ADCL wireless router to my staffs and the students. I want to monitor their internet activitties including the sites visited, and to restrict their downloadings etc. Which software is suitable to monitor from a workstation.

Wireshark?
http://www.wireshark .org/download.html
remember to remove the space from between wireshark and the .org for a working link.
That will give you a way to monitor what is being visited and the like stopping downloads is another thing entirely and really depends on what hardware you have in place. Maybe one of the Nix Firewalls between the Broadband Connection and WiFi Router acting as a Gateway would be what you require.
