Duplicate Boot Listed for One Operating system
Windows 7 option listed twice on start up -- System configuration boot tab lists the following twice Windows 7 (c:\Windows) : Current OS; Default OS ---- I find the Advanced system settings>System properties>Startup and recovery settings offering Windows 7 twice for Default operating system choice---- Command prompt bcdedit lists one Boot loader identifier and the app EasyBCD shows only one boot system Windows 7 ---- Am puzzled about the dupicity and how to correct the issue. I greatly appreciate the help and advice in advance and say many thanks -- papa50

I don't think this is anything to worry about.
It is probably just a pointer to the option to boot from an emergency recovery
CD/partition. One of my older machines, an old Dell Dimension, lists WinXP
twice, and if you highlight the second listing, it will prompt you for the CD.
It doesn't hamper boot time or operations, so I leave it alone.

Thanks for the reply wizard: select either at boot & the only Windows7 OS opens---Advanced system settings>Start up and recovery>Settings>Default OS list Windows 7 twice-- a selection change opens same/only version of Windows 7 installed---Just curious how to delete-- thanks again papa50
