You may have to remove the battery pack,
as well as the AC power adapter, and let the laptop sit for a couple of minutes.
Then reinsert the battery pack, then hook up the power adapter. Now press
the power on button and see if it boots normally. You may get a boot menu
the first time to choose Normal, Safe Mode, etc. If so, choose normal.

Resuming from hibernate mode
When the computer tries to resume from hibernation mode, if you press F8 repeatedly right before it does it, you will get a menu giving you the option to delete the restoration data and boot normally.
