Windows XP is no longer able to detect the HDD

A ThinkCenter workstation, Lenovo MT-M6234-AZ1, with Windows XP SP3 installed have been running fine for several months. This morning it was found crashed because XP was no longer able to access the Hard Disk Drive, we tried a clean installation with a new Hard Drive but XP could not find the drive, we tried Windows 7 and it was perfectly installed without any issue. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and installed the latest version of the Windows XP device driver and application suite for the onboard disk controller SATA AHCI controller, but Windows XP still cannot detect the disk drive.
What do I have to do to fix the problem so that I can install Windows XP on the workstation? Thanking you very much in anticipation.

Windows XP didn't come with SATA Drivers
You need to push the F6 Key when prompted to install Specialized Drivers I think they suggest SCSI or RAID and then wait till you are prompted to insert the driver into Disc A.

As most computers now no longer use Floppies I Slipstream the necessary Drivers to a Install Disc that I make for each different computer. You can use nLite a free utility to do this available here

Just don't forget to read the instructions for it's use here there are several different languages so there may be something better for you than English if you are not a Native English Speaker.

remember to remove the space from between nliteos and the .com for a working URL.

Also typically you have to switch from AHCI mode to compatibility-mode in BIOS or XP will not see the drive
