my Dell notebook 10in stops loading XP Pro with WDFLDR.sys then the blue

I tried to fix windows by using the install disk, It apparently doesn't recognize the hard drive. It also stops when I tried to use the safe mode. How can I retrieve or revive my operating system? Is there a bootable cd with utilities to rebuild the boot

The Model Number of the NB would be helpful here
After all if you have the Rescue/Recovery Disc supplied by Dell it has to work. Of course if it's not for this Model then it's not likely to work. wink

However the Ultimate Boot CD may be helpful here though I dont think it will be able to repair this particular problem.

remember to remove the space from between ultimatebootcd and the .com for a working link.

RE:- I loaded the XP Pro it came with Home edition
Well there is your problem. the XP Pro you used doesn't have the SATA Driver Slipstreamed to the Install Disc. You can make a Slipstreamed Install Disc with nLite available free here

http://www.nliteos .com/download.html

The directions for use are here

http://www.nliteos .com/guides.html

remember to remove the space from between nliteos and the .com for a working URL and to get the SATA Driver from the Dell Web Site.

Thank you I will try this. I have been retired for 15 years and haven't stayed up to date with the computers.
