Bare Metal Recovery - Like for Like Success Rate

Hi Guys, im thinking of testing a bare metal recovery from a live server onto a mirrored server, same make, spec, model etc.

Im using the inbuilt Windows SBS 2011 backup system, doing a full server backup onto a 1TB USB drive.

I take it i must setup the same RAID config first? And what is the success rate and time it takes to do this?

Can you point me in the direction of any good guides for this, thanks
