my dvd drive shows it as cd drive

I have dell vostro 1450 and it has dvd drive,i played dvd's in the past but now,in my computer it shows it as a cd drive i dont know what happend i didn't made any changes only i chaged the upgraded the os once.plz tel me a solution

Sounds like

You need to update some drivers. Have you done all your software and hardware updates since doing the upgrade?
