Built in POP3 client
I'M assuming that what you want to do is download emails from an external email provider to your local Exchange Server.
If your Ex 2010 is running under SBS 2011, then SBS2011 has a built in POP3 connector.

Agree with [rjones] about POP3 connector, however
I use fetchmail on a linux box to clean external inbound mail and archive it. The minimum fetch cycle frequency using the POP3 connector is 5 minutes and fetchmail was more flexible config-wise (currently set to a 30 second inbound interval).

Hope this helps!
