Desktop Search as a network search server

We have a network drive at work where the whole team stores information relevant to our projects. It's packed with more than 250,000 files, most of these Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel documents.
I need a desktop search software which can find files with text on my pc and network computers.

Content search software
The followings are the most commonly recommended utilities:
- Windows 7 Search
- Google Desktop:
- Copernic Desktop Search
- Text Finding

Text Finding and Copernic Desktop Search are two wonderful search tools I ever used. Text Finding has strong network search feature. One of the most important point is that it offers permanent free version. Even if its Professional version needs to be paid, it is still low-priced. On the contrary, Copernic Desktop Search only provides 30-day free trial and its paid versions are very expensive. So personally speaking, I prefer Text Finding.

How does the existing search function not do this?
If you have permissions to access the drive, and it is connected, you can search it.
