IE 9/Windows 7

We have brought new laptops with Windows 7 and IE 9 32bit and 64bit, when installing some applications they will not install, went to Microsoft forums and found that if I turn off the UAC the applications will install, this seems like a band-aid fix and there has to be another way to fix this issue. Does anyone know of one.

i just turn off uac
it was the first thing i did when i got my win7 desktop a few years ago and the first thing i did with my new laptop a month ago...to me, it's an easy fix; i turn it off and leave it off. This links works for win 7 as well.

UAC
Are you trying to install add-ins for IE9? If so, right-click on IE shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator" and then try installing your add-ins. UAC is there for a reason. Do not disable it as previously suggested.
