i just bought DlinkD-Link Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ modem router but while trying to install the modem through CD set up guide.. a pop up message cnt discover router,
please check if the cable is connected properly ,and make sure router is powered comes up.. have check and recheck cable connection everything is ok.. but am still stuck here.. any advise

Which cable have you checked?
The one that they mean here is the Network cable between the Computer and the Router.
To set these things up you need to hard wire them to the computer you are using to set them up with and then once they are setup you can remove the Network Cable and connect Wirelessly if you so chose to.

I have never had one of those CD's work lol
Its easier to just grab your gateway IP address, enter it in your browser and use the routers interface instead.
To grab your gateway address, the easiest way is to open a command prompt and type ipconfig
First, open your start menu and pick run, if you have no run command (windows 7) type run and hit enter.
type cmd in the run dialog
in the black window type
ipconfig
This will display your IP information. write down the address for the default gateway and enter it into your browser. It's usually something like this 192.168.1.1
This usually takes you to a login page. Most routers have no password and either have no account name, or use "administrator" as the account name.
