Installed programs disappeared from Control Panel Programs and Features

I recently installed a couple of new programs on my pc and something very odd has happened. I can see the newly installed programs in my Windows 7 control panel under Programs and Features but the other 30+ programs I have installed disappeared from the list! They are all still installed and listed in my Start menu under All Programs and so far, they all appear to be functioning normally. My question is: How do I get all of my programs to re-appear in Programs and Features? Ive read that this problem can sometimes occur if the program you installed creates a registry key name that is longer than 60 characters in length. Supposedly, you can uninstall the offending program and the list will re-populate. Well, I tried that and it didnt work. Ive also tried running CCleaner to fix any registry issues and that didnt work either. Im open to any and all suggestions!

Have you tried...
Using system restore to restore to a point earlier than the program install?

Disclaimer: Make sure that you have a verified good FULL backup of all your files on a separate drive as you could possibly KILL your OS install fixing this

Best of luck!
