On my XP machine the Firewall, Essentials, and Security Center won't load.
It says it failed to start the service. I tried starting it through services.msc, cleaning the registry with ccleaner, and scanning for maleware with Malwarebytes. Still the same problem. Also, I had system restore turned off, so I can't go back to when it worked. This is where I'm at and it sounds like my only option is to reformat the drive.

Update your AV Scanner & Malware Bytes
Then restart the system in Safe Mode and scan it with your AV Scanner Malware Bytes.
Scanning in Normal Mode will not pickup the infections.
If that doesn't work you need to use a Boot Disc to clean the system. Look here for the available Boot Disc's:-
