Hi All,
I am looking to install a Server 2012 Domain Controller in the company i work for, we currently have the following domain controllers.
Server 2003
Server 2008
Server 2008R2
Domain Functional Level
Windows Server 2003
Forrest Functional Level
Windows Server 2003 interim
What affect would putting a 2012 DC have on the network, considering we do have Win NT + 95 + 98 clients.
Thanks
Matt

Ugh...
Get RID of those old machines if you can! You will save yourself tons of headaches!
May offer some help --> http://social.technet.microsoft. com/Forums/en/winserverDS/thread/d947d8f2-d891-4680-88a1-620cfa80e381
(remove the space between microsoft. and the com)

I just remember it slows things down
It's been a long time since this was discussed in college but I remember it switches all systems to a compatibility mode if you have any machines older than windows 2000.
I would dump the 95 and 98 machines if possible, or don't put them on the domain and just put them in a work group instead.
95/98 won't allow you to access any network shares that have any permissions other than "Everyone". If you try, they will get a login screen that asks for a password but no user ID. Which I think means it wants to login as administrator.
Some of what I said could be wrong, this is pretty old stuff.
