Do what the message says of course
Uh... do what the message is telling you to do. Uninstall it (this is safe to do) and install it to a different hard drive. Or run a different tool (again, making sure to install to a different drive, or use a portable tool).

If you already did it please mention that in your post. By not mentioning it you are wasting the time of people that are trying to help you. Your new response is still unclear. You say you cannot locate the data... does that mean you did the recovery using Remo and it said it was successful but no files were recovered? Or files were recovered but they were all corrupt? Or files were recovered but you can't find them? Or something else?
As for other software to try, my suggestion is EasyRecovery. It is very easy to use. Just run it, click the "I formatted my drive" button and off you go.
TestDisk is very powerful and I've had a lot of luck with it. It's not the easiest tool to use though, particulary with the actual recovery of the files.
RecoverMyFiles, GetDataBack, File Scavenger, Zero Assumption Recovery and Data Recovery Wizard are others I've used on occassion (none of them enough to give a strong recommendation though). Of them, GetDataBack seems to get referred by others the most.

Professional Software Can Save Your Life
You'd better try using professional recovery program like one from Stellar Phoenix.
But first, you should unplug the problem drive and connect it another working computer and then download/install the program. Try advanced recovery method like RAW Recovery or Advanced Recovery.
Hope it helps!!
