I have been trying to save some web pages bells and whistles, such as http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14434/scan-a-windows-pc-for-viruses-from-a-ubuntu-live-cd/ with either Internet Explorer or Firefox. When I reopen it from either browser, all the images are not saved. I wonder why. I try to copy and paste it on to the Microsoft Word, the same problem happens, no images.
I do some translation at http://translate.google.com.au/?hl=en&tab=wT#. I save the pages after the translation, but all the original words or phrases and the translated are not saved. I did see them saved before. Now I can't. What could be the reasons?

You have to save the site as a "web archive" in IE...
Under "File, Save as.." , should be options to save images as well. Now, as for
Google Translate...it will probably render the HTML markup as unreadable by
trying to change to a different language.

I have just tried all three options with the Internet Explore, Webpage complete, Web Archive, Webpage. None picked up the images. Moreover, I can't find any options whether to save images as well.
On the other hand, I tried to save this TechRepublic web page and it worked. Everything including images seem to be there.
So it must be web site or web page specific.issues. Perhaps there are settings or coding on the page preventing them to be saved. Is it possible.

Yes, it is possible to block webpages being saved complete with
images, can even block the actual source being viewed, though
it isn't done often. Probably what is happening is a use of frames
and tables to display images and other elements. However, I just
saved the page you linked above, everything was there EXCEPT
for images displayed as advertisements. I'm currently using
Opera 11.64-1403 Linux 32 bit, running in Slax 7 by way of a
self-built module. I might try IE8 or 9 on a different PC to see
if results are same. When using IE8, IIRC you save the entire
page as a "MHT" file to preserve embedded images. Though
images displayed from exterior domains by way of advertisements
usually are not saved, as they are "dynamic" and change periodically
images, can even block the actual source being viewed, though
it isn't done often. Probably what is happening is a use of frames

Yes you are right. I downloaded the Opera and tried it. It worked. There is an option of saving with images. So I suppose other options would not save the images at all.
I can't try the Chrome. It crashes on me almost every time, even with the one I've just downloaded. I don't know how Google could have developed such so call Internet browser.

You can use Tool HTTrack
the answer is use HTTrack tool. You can copy the whole website even with this or particular url can be passed to it to copy specific page.

It's strange.
I checked again.

Bookmark it create shorcut Favorites
If you want to save a page, you can bookmark it or create shorcut. Right-click, choose create shortcut. OR JUST click the Star Icon to save it. You can find it from Favorites

something like Camtasia Or Apowersoft Free Online Screen Recorder (this one is used online, it's good to use, you can capture your web page by it online, then see your target webpage offline) lol, isn't a good idea?

If you just need to read the page offline but don't need to click the links
there are tools which can take a scrolling screen grab. Snagit is the popular paid for version. Greenshot is free (works with IE) and there's the Screenshot Pimp addin for Firefox. All are pretty good.
