Crapware attached to updates from Java, Adobe and others

Can we please stop the madness?!?!? I can deal with companies like Java and Adobe Flash/Reader etc. who supply their services for free and make these offers as a way of generating a little income so as to keep their services free. But can we please NOT have the check box default to the checked condition? As part of the IT team where I work I am constantly having to remove this from our corporate computers because an untrained user clicked update and didnt know to un-check the box. Java and others, you are creating a lot of work for those of us trying to run a business. We already have a corporate anti-virus solution. We dont need two different AVs fighting each other and slowing down our business. We dont need all those toolbars either. Give us the option, just dont choose for us. Thanks!

this belongs in Discussions, perhaps even around the water cooler.

Why do you have users updating gear on the corp workstations? Shouldn't you have policies in place restricting users from doing dumb things? Seems like you should be complaining about yourself.

But, I agree... crapware is a pain.

Let Them Live With It
I have largely stopped cleaning the crap. Clean and re-image take more time than they are worth if Ms. User is going to reinstall the same 5 toolbars in a day. But I will explain why your computer is "slow" and why you "cannot get your work done" to your supervisor. Whose computer also has three toolbars installed.
