File conversion Dialogue box

In the outlook email if I try to open a photo attachment a "File Conversion" dialogue box pops up and Windows (default) is selected but the content appears in machine language. How do I solve this problem? How do I see the picture? Please help me.

What is the file type?
jpg? jpeg? gif? bmp? png? tga? tif? pdf? Other?
