Need --Rundll32 File for Windows 95

by NetTek In reply to Need --Rundll32 File for ...

Rundll is a file that is used internally by Windows to load dll's from other applications. Rundll.exe is the 16 bit version, Rundll32.exe is the 32 bit version. Both are located in c:\windows. If you want to replace these, simply copy them to diskette from another Win95 machine. On the machine you would like to install the Rundll, rename the files that are already there (to rundll32.exe.old, for example), and copy the new files from diskette to c:\windows. You may have to boot to an ms-dosprompt to do this if the files are in use when Windows is running.

However, Rundll32 errors are usually not an indication the Rundll32 is corrupt. It is an indication that a .dll from an application that rundll32 is trying to load is corrupt. Go to http://support.microsoft.com and put in the error message you are getting. You may get the exact solution you need. If this does not work, try reinstalling the application that is associated with the Rundll32 error.
