Wordperfect51 port for Unix for a netwo

By rjardiolin ·
How do you define a wpport in unix for a network printer? WP5.1 is no longer supported that's why it urged me to post this problem. I need to find out also the spool command related to defining a port. The printer is connected to the network via JetDirect card.

I don't have an answer for your wpport, I would assume (since it is ported) that it prints to a defined printer. As far as configuring spooling (which includes defining the printer dev) it really depends on what type of UNIX you are using. HPUX/AIX/SCO/Sun/Linux/FreeBSD ad nauseum. Each of these tend to be different, and some change from version number to version number. This doesn't even touch on what would be needed if your printer (what kind?)needs a special interface file. What I can tell you isuse SMIT or SAM for HPUX/AIX, and most versions of linux use Printtool. Good luck!
