access 2000 date function

need to use the date function as
a criteria in a query but access
says the function is not available
this was a problem in 97 as well with
win98 workstations but not with winnt
any ideas

This article on the Microsoft Knowledge Base may apply to your situation (though it is presently specific to Access 97). Perhaps the workstation used to create the database has an updated version of control, or Jet, etc.

A specific date = #7/21/95# will restrict records to that date only if entered in the Date/Time fild's criteria line in queryview.

A specific date = < (or >)#7/21/95# will deliver records greater than or less than that date only if entered in theDate/Time fild's criteria line in queryview.

Todays date = Now() will restrict records to that date omly if enter in the Date/Time fild's criteria line in queryview.

I have used these in all versions of Access usine every operating system you mentioned without problem?? Hope this helps.

Hi there are several "Date" functions in Access. Which one are you trying to use. Send me or post the code like =Date() or Datepart () or whatever is you are using and I'll try decern where the difficulty is. I have 10 yrs with access i should beable to help.
