Access 97 rebooting computer?

By sj123 ·
I have a user who uses Access 97 with win2k, after running a report, when she goes to close Access, after about a minute it will reboot her PC, also causes her to lose any documents that were open in other programs. Is there some issue with Access that causes this shutdown?

Access 97 rebooting computer?

I would doubt that the program is actually causing the pc to re-boot, it just seems like that to the user. This sounds more like an issue with the system power supply that needs to be checked out by you and possibly the vendor if the unit is still under warranty. Is this a new system? I would think this likely if the pc is newer--these problems seem to show up early on. If not, do you have lots of electrical storms? If so, check to see if the surge protection is still good. Make sure all power supply connections are firmly in place including the power cord on the back of the CPU.
Hope this helps.
