Access to Outlook

By D_E_PINDER ·
Is it possible for an Access database Date field to automatically update to Outlook. If so how is this achieved. If not what alternatives are there for Outlook to update from other applications, ie can I link Access through Excel to Outlook for example.

It really depends on which version of access and of outlook you are using and what you want to transfer.
Start at the outlook side and look for export a file. If you selected Calendar it is possible to export it to an Access database. If required one can use an import/export map.
Look at the database which has been generated.
Once you understand this it is easy to do the opposite, thus importing the database into the calendar.
There may be a few problems. With a standard installation of outlook and the office suite not all converters may have been implemented. The input/export table may not be correct.
There may be dates in the database which could give problems in the calendar.
Here I assumed that you want to import assignments [meetings etc] from Access into Outlook. If you have different requirements, please clarify.
Good luck.

It's not the whole database that I want to register in Outlook, just the particular record/field, ie a due date field. The reminder in Outlook would shortcut me directly to the field/id, in the database, that was due.
