Accessing the internet

By veegee ·
Iam accessing the internet thru a proxy server. If my internet usage is restricted by my admin, is there any other way to use that without his knowledge?

If your admin has done his job, you can not go around him. But look at the connections setting in IE. Tools/Internet Options/connection... If it is set for proxy, turn it off and uncheck all the boxes, close IE and open it again, see if it will direct connect to the internet connection.
Worth a try!!!

Your admin will have had good reasons for restricting internet access. There are ways around the restrictions such as adding a modem and then following the steps in the previous answer. Be very careful of doing this as in many companies this couldlead to you being fired. Your best bet is to see your admin and give him the reasons why you need more access.
Best of luck!!

Read "perlotechy" 's response again. And again.

And again.

The proxy is not something your admin dreamed up and installed just for the fun of it. The proxy is not there to enforce the policies of your admin. The proxy is there to enforce the policies of your employer. Presumably they pay you to do a job, just like they pay the admins to do their jobs. Just do it.

If you need more access than your current polices provide, make a business case to your boss, who should be able to authorise any necessary changes. Your admin will be able to open up your connection.

For more info: read the response from "perlotechy" again.
