Accidental Reformat of Hard Drive

By davepens ·
My hard drive is partitioned drive c, d, and e. I accidentally reformatted the drive d partition. Is there a way I can recover the files that were on the d drive? Appreciate any help!

Depending on how recent your backup is, data recovery shouldn't be any problem. Depending on your backup media, whether it be tape or recordable cd, access the media, recover the files and you should be set.

Yes,
There are several utilities available on Cnet.
(Cnet is the parent of TechRepublic.)
Go to www.cnet.com
I would start with
Recover My Files 2.29
It is a free download.

You can try Easy Recovery. I deleted some files and then used Easy Recovery and got back ALL the deleted files. I know this is not formatting, but it is worth a try. Don't even try Restorer 2000, because it never works. Easy Recovery is your best bet.
