Looks difficult to remove

This is hard to follow, but it might be of use for you.

The diagnostic procedures involved running "HiJackThis.exe" a lot of times. It's a free utility that does not make any changes to your disk; it just reports on programs that are active, so that somebody who really knows what they're doing can make recommendations. It's a diagnostic tool, not a fixer.

Good luck. It looks like ACProtect is not a virus, but is supposed to protect copyrighted software from being copied. It has been around for a lot of years. Maybe you have an old version that doesn't work well.

revo uninstaller

its a free download just google it

run a moderate uninstall job on acprotect, revo will run the softwares uninstall utility then check the registry for entries that you can also remove. So even if acprotect's uninstall utility doesnt work removing the entries from the registry will make windows "think" its uninstalled. then locate the ACprotect folder in program files and delete it
