How do i go about installing Active desktop on my NT workstation?? what download do i need or is it an option that's on the NT cd?

I think you need IE 5.0.
There's an article dealing with hiding the Active Desktop that may give you some help. Type the following in the address box of Internet Explorer:

One way to get it is to get the IEAK.

You can custom configure your own Internet Explorer and include the Active Desktop option in your Corporate install.

The download is big and you will only want to do this with a high speed connection. But it is what I did to get the Active Desktop on my NT 4 workstations.

The Active desktop functionality comes as part of windows 2000/98. It appears to have been initially introduced with Internet Explorer version 4 (IE). If you can get a hold of this version of IE and install it - you will have an option to also install "SHELL ENHANCEMENTS" or something similar. This will give you the functionality of active desktop and other enhancements (including putting launch buttons on your taskbar).
