Administrator Password

By don_pham ·
Hello,
My boss just came down and asked me that is there easy way to change the administrator password without effects any application server that relies on the asminstrator password, for instance the backup, application interfaces, or SQL database. Or is there a way that we can find out what application server that is using the admin pwd. What is the properly way to change the admin pwd.
I really appreciate very much.

Without knowing which apps rely of the password, I cannot give a definite answer, but normally, there are two types of apps: ones that detect the password, and ones which require separate passwords. Normally, these progs will just change to the new password when you change it. But if you have any batch files or similar that automaticaly enter the password, then they will break. Otherwise, they shouldn't be affected.
