ADSL Ethernet connecting problems.

By wakim ·
Hello I am having problem in the internet connection. Ealier I have no problem in the connection.I have unistalled the driver and let Windows detect it,it detects. When I try to make a new connection to see whether it works it could not complete the process,in the LAN properties advanced tab it say that "Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The Windows management instruemation ( VMI) information might be corrupteded. To connect use system restore to restore windows to an ealier time." The thing is I have disable System Restore a long time ago and now running Restore IT. I am using Realtek RTL8139 Family PC1 Ethernet NIC (ADSL Ethernet Router) Please anyone using or have suggestion which can solve the problems will be much appreciate. I am running Windows XP Pro sp1. Thanks.

well, you can't restore to a previous time with Restore IT?
maybe also try system file checker to replace missing or corrupt system files? Start/run/sfc <enter>

SYMPTOMS
When you click the Advanced tab when you view your network properties, you may receive the following error message:

Windows cannot display the Properties of this connection. The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted.

To correct this, use System Restore to restore Windows to an earlier time (called a restore point). System Restore is located in the System Tools folder in Accessories.

Note To view your network properties, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Network and Internet Connections.
Click Network Connections.
Right-click your local area connection, and then click Properties.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because of a damaged Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) database.
