An unexpected network error has occurred

    Locked

    by parogi ·

Every hour my NT workstations get the following error entered into the System Log:

An unexpected network error has occurred on the virtual circuit to MFG30.

MFG30 is a Windows 95 workstation located at a remote location connected through frame relay. The error messages are on all or my NT workstations and servers. MFG30 is one of 10 workstations that are listed in the logs. So all my NT workstations are receiving a total of 10 log enteries per hour.

The NT machines are NOT mapped to a Win95 share and the Windows 95 machines are updated with SP1. The NT machines are SP4 and SP6a.

    Has anyone seen this before.

Maybe somehow the Win95 machine is being listed as a domain controller that needs replication in the Server Mgr. If thats the case, I would remove it from the Server Mgr. and see if you keep getting this message.

Have you checked the router stats as to frame errors, loss of LMI, DLCI unavailable/deleted (indicates loss of PVC)?

Are these errors in a regular time interval? Even obscure irregular repeating time intervals (1,3,7,12,18,1,3.., sec/min), could be a timing issue on either end of the circuit. Had one 23.75 hours between errors.
