Anyone know of a free program to remove the shaking from a video?
Lockedby slayer_ · about 12 years, 11 months ago
We got some videos from our vacation, and some, such as the ones shot from the helicopter, are pretty shaky, even with the anti shaking features of the camera.
Anyone know of any free software that can process a video and help remove some of the shakiness (I assume by cropping it on the correct side per frame)?
Windows or Linux is fine 🙂Thanks.

to stop a video from shaking… the only one I can think of is AA – but it will only help reduce the shaking on future videos, not the ones you’ve taken already. 😀

It looks good, does the free trial have any limitations? I have about 60 videos to process, but only about 10 of them are in desperate need.

Nevermind, says it makes a big red cross over the video for the trial version. 130 bucks is far too much for a batch processing program. Surely the FOSS community has built something similar?

Do you currently have any video editing software installed that you’re using to edit the video in general? If you do, I may be able to suggest a plugin to get this result for your current editing software of choice.

to see if any have the feature(s) you want. You may also want to check out a distro designed for multimedia – run it live with everything pre-installed, what? http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=64+studio There seems to be another as well: http://www.chainsawlinux.com/about.html

The second one says it is free for personal use (and I am personal). So it could be a good choice. Thanks. I will try it when I get home.

There may also be a plugin for KDEnlive; I know it was discussed on the developer mailing list but I am not sure if its been implemented yet…

You may want to try to not be so scared when taking the videos next time. LOL
No seriously. you should try this link.
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/virtualdub.html.
I haven’t personally tried it myself, I was just doing a general search. You may want to try this search link.
http://www.snapfiles.com/downloadfind.php?st=Video+Stabilizer&action=s&ref=1&search=Find+it&lc=1
I would also try goggle for Free Video Stabilizer. I would also like to input that you may have to consider purchasing some software that’s fairly cheap. It maybe worth it in the long run, if you continue to be scared when taking videos. Try laying off the cafeine abit, that may help. Sorry…..couldn’t help but to throw that in. You know we couldn’t let you get away with out giving you a hard time.-
