Auditing In XP Home Edition

By stephen.owen ·
I recently purchased an HP Pavillion with XP Home Edition Pre-Installed. I noticed that they have auditing enabled by default. There does not appear to be an actual "Local Computer Policy" available, nor can I add the Group Policy snap in through MMC. I am fairly knowledgeable on the Pro version, but this is my first look at Home. Anyone got any ideas?. I have searched the MSKB and nothing shows up.

My goal here is to disable the auditing.

This quote is from one of the forums:

"In Home Edition you can enable or disable Audit Policy using the
"AuditPol.exe" tool from the Windows 2000 Resource Kit."
