Auto forward problem

By Zahid ·
In myn organisation one of user has mailboxes in 2 different sites. A few months before the user moved to the other site and set Out of Office assistant to forward all his emails to the other mailbox. That worked fine during his vist but he noted after coming back that a copy of emails are still forwarded to the other mailbox although the OOA was turned off. Ther is no other on his Outlook 98 client. Ther is nothing unusual in the exchnage server.
Anybody aware of the problem.

You can check to see if there is a rule that is also processing incoming mail and forwarding it. Click on organise then rules wizard and examine the list for any forwarding instructions.

Has the exchange administrator set-up alternative recipient settings on the server itself?

In Outlook check the Inbox Assistant, in case an auto forward rule has been created here. Otherwise check in Exchange Admin and make sure the alternate recipient in the delivery option hasn't been ticked.

There's definitely a rule, or alternate recipient, created somewhere - find it and turn it off.

Bigger question - why does user require two mailboxes? I have users traveling from site to site all the time, but they still access their mail from their "home" site with no problem.
