Auto lockout of XP

I have a computer that is automatically locking itself. I there a setting for this or could I possibly have a virus? Running XP Pro

Check your power settings in the control panel. The advanced tab has a setting to prompt for password. Also check the screen saver password setting.

Are you talking about the screen that says "This computer is in use and has been locked"? Also, is this machine log on to a domain? Post a comment.

Yes that screen is the one, but no it does not log on to a domain. This just started happening. I suspect a virus, but cannot find any info about this type of behavior.
