Auto Logoff with 2K ???

By Tonywildcat17 ·
I was just wondering if there is a way to make Windows 2000 logoff after a certain amount of idle time? I know that XP goes back to the logon screen after the screen saver has come up. Thanks

Auto Logoff with 2K ???

Hey,

Not sure if you really need it to log off or if you are trying to duplicate XP. 2000 will go back to the locked workstation screen like XP if you enable the password on your 2000 screensaver.

Thanx

I know that you can lock it with a password, but that means that only that user or the administrator can get back on. In XP any user can log in. I didnt know if there is some reg hack or something to enable 2K to do that.

Using the group policy editor snap-in, security options under local policies, you can configure exactly that. However, if this machine is part of a domain any policies configured at the domain level will override the local policy.
