Auto Restart problem

by Maggot In reply to Auto Restart problem

You have not revealed which os your're using.
Did you build the system youself?
Check your bios config. set the bios as cachable,
give the bios a look-over and see that it is set to your systems requirements. If all is well with
bios config,andos config. maybe a re-install of
os is order, could be a corrupt system file.
Is this a "new" problem?

Hi guy,

Aopen motherboard seems always wired. I have an other type of motherboard (Aopen MX6B),I guess its component layout is same. You may check Panel jumper 11-12 if it connected already(colose BIOS chip),which is for soft-power switch. Below is the panel cable (2 x 10-pins)layout,hope it will help you:

1-2 keylock
3-6 IDE LED
7-10 Speaker
11-12 SPWR
13-15 APCI&Power LED
16-18 empty
19-20 RESET

Auto Restart problem

Harry,
I had a similar problem with Win98SE that wouldn't shutdown, it just kept rebooting.. I had fiddled with the Auto Power On feature in the bios (on MSI M'bd though) and this was interfering with the shut down process.
If you have any settings in the bios set to automatically start the machine through modem ring, Wake on Lan, usb device, pressing keyboard keys, etc, turn them off.
I had reset my bios to defaults but it didn't change these settings..
good luck.
