Auto Shutdown of Windows Server 2003

I have a server running windows server 2003 standard edition. The server power off by itself, I only realise it when I want to log in to the office network. This is the second time it has happen.

What causes this problem?

First check the event logs for any error messages on failures, especially with the RPC service.

Also, check to make sure that the power settings are disabled and the system is not entering a hibernation mode. Powering down network cards and hard disks can easily cause a server to fail.
