Automatic e-mail notification

Folks, forgive me if I have been in "la-la-land" on this subject. I just requested on a web page some information and normally you wonder where it goes etc. I was pleased to recieve an email in less than a minute informing me the individual was out of the office until Aug. 1st and given the option to leave a voice mail/or if urgent, the name and number of their backup.This was a first for me! OK, sorry if I not in the "00" century. I was thinking along these lines for my home computer if you could set up email to say you are not available. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

It's built in to Outlook

I'm running Outlook Express at work right now, and it doesn't have it..... I can't remember exactly where in Outlook, but it's there :)

Yes, I have seen the light. My question is why more people don't use-DUH they don't know, no one showed them, who cares. BUT more important, why all of these fancy web sites that tout customer service etc., don't have something like this in place- ie.e Amazon.com is a great example of acknowledgement, noticication, status of request and ramdom surveys on "how we doing". Thanks for your reply.
