Depends

on what range of services it's providing, but within 5 years you'll probably be looking at upgrades or replacement.

Look at it another way -
Server 2008 is "current"
Server 2003 is "old"
Server 2000 is "obsolete"

Office 2010 is "new"
Office 2007 is "current"
Office 2003 is "old"
Office 2000 is "obsolete"
Office 97 is "archaic"

So don't plan on much more than 5 years, maybe 3 if your application is very demanding.
