Our users have been using "stationary" from Outlook 98 as background in email. Is this a big bandwidth hog ? We have branch offices connect by routers to the server out of the main office, WAN. Would having persons go to plain white background on email composition help at all ??

I would say that the stationary can't be big enought to rally make a difference in your bandwith usage. You could try it but I don't think you'll see any difference.

If nothing else, it would make the email more readable. Just because it is possible to put a graphic background on something doesn't mean that it must be done. And if folks are passing around the usual number of jokes, witty sayings, cartoons, etc. it can begin to add to the bandwidth burden.
