Bell vs. Rogers vs. Telus vs. Allstream vs. Shaw

    1) In your opinion what is the mission, vision and strategic plan for the key carriers out there? It doesn’t seem to be clearly outlined in their annual reports.

    2) Any comments on who will lead in this race?

that the membership here doesn’t really care about the Canadian ISP industry.

Not surprising, when you consider they all screw the customers over.

since I had no clue what the OP was babbling about. I don’t think most of the membership cares about the ISPs in their own country. Here in the U.S. you usually have only two high-speed choices – DSL from your franchised telephone monopoly, or cable from your franchised cable monopoly. Yeah, you can go cellular or satellite, but both are way more expensive.

the op only listed 5 of the options here.
          3 are telcos.
Telus, Bell and Allstream are phone companies
          2 are cable.

there are at least 5 more options for service here.
not counting the local options that are really only resellers.

          It’s hard to care

about corporate entities, no matter how many they employ. The employees who keep them afloat, are sh*t on at nearly every opportunity, tempting me to wish the demise of the entity.

ATT U-Verse is well worth checking into when it makes it into your area. Moved to it a couple, maybe three to four months ago, and I gotta tell ya, it’s the best ISP/TV move I’ve made.

Fiber to the node, dedicated copper to my place. Sweet.

I have trouble keeping up, what with my 55-gal drum and all.

cheaper than my former arrangement with Charter. More channels, and faster Internet connection. Now paying 5/8 of what I was paying.

Drums have been known to make me cry.
