BIOS upgrade

By hbee ·
One of my computer at work, a P-133, has a BIOS which is not Y2K compliant. Where can I find a free BIOS upgrade for (Award Modular BIOS v4.50PG). It is made by Award Software Inc. with the following string:
03/08/96-i430FX-2A59CF5HC-00. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Goto:
http://www.windrivers.com/

If you know the motherboard manufacturer you can try to find the update
there. You can find other sites like that by entering "windows and drivers"
into a search engine.

Also try going to your motherboard manufacturer website if it exists.

the last alternative is to go to:
http://www.unicore.com/
and click on "AWARD" (Image) then click on "USA" on the next page.
mabe you can find out who made your MB from there.

Unicore can DEFINATELY set you up with the update you need BUT
I don't know if they will charge for it.

You could also go with the "Millenium Pro" 8 bit hardware card from
Unicore as well. It will work (so they claim) on ANY system and ENSURE
FULL Y2K compliance.

If the above answer does not help out then try this site. http://www.driverguide.com/
If you don't know the board manufacturer you can enter in the FCC number and it will tell you who made it.

If you know the manufacturer of the motherboard, just go to the manufacturer's webpage and the should have links to the latest bios flash update. If you can't find the manufacturer by looking somewhere on the board, try to search for it by the FCC ID and that should give the manufacturer.

According to the F5 in the id string, this board is made my Atima (thanx windrivers!), the url is www.atima.com but it redirects to www.gemlight.com, there is nothing on their site for bios upgrades though. The following websites may help you, but whatever you do, make a backup of your old bios.

According to the http://www.ping.be/bios page the 2A59CF5HC-00 equates to FUGU Tech not Atima. Apparently Windrivers is wrong. Since FUGU doesn't have any support for motherboards, and it was BAD support before this.

A further search revealed your specific motherboard might be a AMPTRON PM-7600. (http://'www.amptron.com). There is a lot of information on this motherboard there, including layout schematics, jumper settings etc., etc. Plus there is a listing for an updated BIOS file too.

BUT, before you go and download this file make DOUBLE DARN SURE that your motherboard and the one they are displaying are the SAME. Flashing with the wrong BIOS upgrade can absolutely "toast" yourmotherboard.

Lot's of luck to ya.
