When you said down to bare system board, are you including removing all of the memory modules from the board? How many memory modules are on the board? Have you tried installing the memory in different configurations?

Depending on number and duration of beeps,

you may be able to search and find an error code…but, it sounds as though the
video has gone bad. If this is “on-board” video, you can maybe install a seperate
video card, then in BIOS setup disable the onboard video.-

Hi It already has a separate video card, Which i removed to try the onboard video still no change im fairly sure the mother board is stuffed and or the chip has been over heated, Thanks for your input, These particular Compaq board seem to stuff the video output as this is the second Compaq Presario i have come across with the same problem, Thanks Jamind

From memory – this indicates a video card failure. Here are all the beep codes from PC Hell

FOUR group is video function and memory

This all depends on the GPU, is it onboard the MOBO or a plugin?? A memory fault will give the continuous beep when the first bank or in the Flash memory fails. No display would indicate the video BIOS on a plugin card failed. Onboard is more complicated but easily disabled to install a plugin to bypass the fault or for diagnostics.

beep code error and blank screen

see if you knocked the cpu fan loose or off center or unplugged it. It sounds like cpu overheat warning. Even if it does not look askew I would reseat cpu fan, memory (watch out for fan power lead) and external video card in that order. One other thing to try is unplug keyboard or mouse if above does not change anything. Also chang jumper to clear cmos and leave it without any power plugged in for 24 hours. Sometimes bios just locks up when memory is not seated correctly. If none works then time to upgrade as mb likely shorted.

Hi Guys, Im so Sorry for not replying sooner, I found the Problem with Compaq Presario S1050AN Desktop Computer, It was 1 of the 1gb Memory Sticks that had stuffed out, Also i think i know how i missed it when i was hunting the problem, When i started looking for the blank screen problem i pulled out 1 sticks of Ram at a time & carried on pulling every thing of the board 1 at a time still getting the same long on of beep. I left it stripped for a week, It just came to me after reading all the info you guys had sent me again, i reassemble the desktop & wipe the memory teeth to take the build up of them fired it up getting the same beep, I pulled out just the Num1 stick of memory fired it up & there was a screen, well i could of kicked my ass if i could, as that was my mis tack, Both Memory sticks should have been wipe down first time they were pulled out, the problem presented itself after this was done, Thanking you all for your input in helping me relies the stuff up i made, Soch a small Problem was doing my head in Ha Ha, Thankyou Jamind
