Block all websites but a few

By ARAHIGIHS ·
I need to be able to block access to all websites but a few approved sites for business use. Can this be done using the settings in IE7 or will I have to purchase software to do this?

You can do this through settings in IE7.

Just go into the settings of IE7 and make a list out of what websites to block.. Or you can do it through your firewall, just up the firewall security and just put in the website that you trust and only allow access for this site, you might even go as far as putting in a password to access your network if you wish.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.

Block everything via DNS

by JPElectron In reply to Block all websites but a ...

Option 1) remove any DNS forwarder and root servers from your corporate DNS server, then add static A and/or CNAME records to reach the few websites you want - this method may require you to update the IPs occasionally when public websites move servers.

Option 2) use http://www.dnsredirector.com to block everything and then add a few sites to the allowed list
